• When can I expect my cleaning to start?

    We try our best to arrive right on time.  However, due to traffic and/or the unexpected difficulty of a prior cleaning, arrival times may sometimes be delayed.  If your cleaner is running late, they will call or text you to let you know.

  • Can I designate a subset of rooms to be cleaned?

    Yes.  Just book a home size reflecting the subset of rooms you desire cleaned and please indicate which rooms those are in the “” portion of the booking platform.

  • Do I have to be home for a cleaning?

    No.  You can always arrange a key drop-off or buzz our employees in.  You may also book our first cleaning of the day at 8:00am to let us in before work.  Please just detail anything we need to know about accessing your place in the “

  • Is Well-Paid Maids pet friendly?

    Yes!  We love pets and pet owners.  There is no extra charge for homes with pets.  Please leave any special pet-related instructions in the “

  • What are your pre-tax service prices?

    For DC residents, prices are inclusive of a 5.75% sales tax.  Subtotals for our services are as follows:  Studio – $131.44, 1b/1ba – $140.90,  2b/2ba – $159.81, 3b/3ba – $197.64, 4b/4ba – $263.83, 5b/5ba – $367.85, 6b/6ba – $405.67.

  • Do you do construction clean-ups?

    No.  Construction clean-ups could unsafely expose our employees to harmful substances such as asbestos particles or lead-paint dust.  Please hire another company that provides their employees with the equipment and training necessary for cleaning up after construction.

  • What is included in a cleaning?

    All interior rooms will be cleaned.  Cleanings include a complete vacuuming and mopping of all floors as well as counter top, table, mirror, and major appliance dusting and cleaning.

    Sinks, toilets, showers, refrigerator exteriors, and oven exteriors are all a part of our standard cleaning.  Additional items, such as refrigerator or microwave interiors, can be added through our booking system.

  • Do you do move-in/move-out cleanings?

    Yes, Move-In/Move-Out is available as an extra in our booking platform.  For less than the cost of adding each extra individually, Move-In/Move-Out includes Inside Fridge, Inside Cabinets, Interior Windows, and Baseboards.

  • What happens if something breaks during a cleaning?

    Our general liability insurance will cover damages up to $2,000,000.  If anything goes wrong during your cleaning, please call us at (202) 734-3579.

  • Does Well-Paid Maids use green cleaning products?

    Yes. We only use products with an “A” rating from the Environmental Working Group, the country’s leading product rating organization regarding consumer health and environmental sustainability.

  • Is Well-Paid Maids extremely expensive?

    No.  We generally charge only slightly higher than the competition despite being Washington, DC’s only living-wage maid service.

    Our pricing (tax included) is as follows:  Studio: $139 | 1b/1ba: $149 | 2b/2ba: $169 | 3b/3ba: $209 | 4b/4ba: $279 | 5b/5ba: $389 | 6b/6ba: $429.

    Customers can also receive a discount by booking appointments for 8am or 1pm.

  • Why does Well-Paid Maids pay their workers significantly above the industry average?

    Like many people in the Washington, DC area, Well-Paid Maids wants the world we live in to reflect our values. Our company pays its workers a living-wage because we believe no one working a full-time job should live in poverty.

  • What bonding does your company have?

    We are bonded through JW Surety Bonds for up to $5,000.

  • Do you bring your own supplies and equipment?

    Yes.  We bring our own equipment and cleaning products.  All of our cleaning products can be viewed on the Products Used page.

  • What are the labor practices of Well-Paid Maids’ competitors?

    As outlined in Well-Paid Maids vs The Competition:  How Are They Run?, we simply don’t know.  Our competitors are not transparent about the wages and benefits their workforce receives.

  • Can I purchase a gift certificate?

  • How can I be sure my payment data is kept safe?

    Our website uses SSL encryption to keep all your information safe.  In addition, all payments are processed through either PayPal or Stripe, ensuring that your credit/debit card information goes through their systems, not ours.

  • What insurance does your company have?

    We use Erie Insurance for general liability up to $2,000,000.

  • Are all employees subject to a background check?

    Yes. We use GoodHire, a leading background check provider, to screen all of our prospective employees.

  • Will I have to pay a fee if I cancel?

  • What should I do if I need to reschedule or cancel?

    Just give us a call at (202) 734-3579 or email us at aaron@wellpaidmaids.com. We ask that you please reschedule no less than 3 business days in advance.  Rescheduling or cancelling less than 3 business days in advance will result in a $75 cancellation fee.

    Unfortunately, the Washington, DC area does not currently have a registry of living-wage employers. If you or your organization is interested in building a registry, please contact us to discuss a possible partnership.
